Congratulations! As an indie writer who’s turned his back on traditional publishing and used new technologies to reach a worldwide audience, I celebrate your win. I know how difficult and time-consuming it is to go the self-published route (I’ve been doing it since 1990). New technologies like podcasting and POD mean that editors and agents no longer have a stranglehold on what gets read in this country. The trads will soon be as obsolete as dodos unless they change their modes of thinking–I’ve been saying for over two decades that most editors wouldn’t know a good book if it kicked them in the balls and your success is all the evidence I need to confirm that view.
